2008 Directory of Nurse Aide Registries

Friday, August 29, 2008

National Council of State Boards of Nursing, Inc. - Directory of Nurse Aide Registries 2008

The following applies when a Declaration of Emergency has been issued:

Verification of certification/registry can be obtained thru on-line verification of the home state registry, in many of the states.  The facility, or someone on behalf of the facility, must obtain verification of the CNA’s current status via online or by directly contacting the registry if no on-line verification system is present for a particular state.  Once status is verified, then the CNA should be able to work in Louisiana.   If the CNA continues to work in the state of Louisiana for more than 30 days, the CNA should apply to the Louisiana registry for reciprocity.  The nursing home should retain documentation of verification of the CNA’s status.
