The State Center for Health Statistics produces the Health Report Card, the Vital Statistics Report, the Health at a Glance Poster and the Louisiana Hospital Inpatient Discharge Database (LAHIDD) Report. All of these may be accessed through the following links, and a few are also available in hard copy. Text versions of most of the data tables in these publications may be found in the Vital Statistics Data Tables. Technical Notes are available in either Word or PDF format. Updated July 2009
Conditions for Data Use
* Missing values may affect the total numbers by less than 0.1%
· The annual Louisiana Vital Statistics Report provides depth data and analyses of vital events in Louisiana at the parish, region and state levels.
· The Vital Statistics Data Tables contain text files of vital statistics data at the state, parish, and public health administrative levels.
· The annual Louisiana Health Report Card presents public health data on population and vital statistics, morbidity, health assessment programs, preventive programs, the Louisiana state health care system, and recommendations for improving health status.
· The annual Louisiana's Health at a Glance poster presents major vital statistics and socio-economic indicators for each parish in the state.
· The Louisiana Hospital Inpatient Discharge Database (LAHIDD) Report summarizes data for patients admitted to and discharged from licensed hospitals in Louisiana.
Discontinued publications:
· The Vital Statistics at a Glance fact card presented summary vital statistics data in a pocket-sized reference card. Discontinued after 1999.
· The annual Louisiana Vital Statistics Overview was a compilation of the most requested vital statistics data. Analysis was kept brief in order to publish the data as soon as the information became available. Discontinued after 1998.
· The Informational Brochure discussed the vital statistics publications available through the State Center for Health Statistics.
