Use surveillance information to guide the development of prevention and outreach activities.
Occupational Health Activities:
CDC/NIOSH Occupational Health Indicator Cooperative Agreement
The cooperative agreement's purpose is to strengthen the Louisiana's Office of Public Health's Occupational Health Surveillance Program's capacity to conduct population-based surveillance of specified occupational health indicators using existing data systems.
The 13 occupational health conditions for study have been identified by NIOSH in collaboration with the Council of State and Territorial Epidemiologist (CSTE). These conditions were selected based on the availability of data, their public health importance, and the opinion that these conditions should be prevented.
