Priority Admissions for Special Populations

Subject:  Waiting List and Priority Admissions for Special Populations, IV Drug Users, Addicted Pregnant Women, Pregnant Women with Dependent Children

Authority:  P.L. 102, ADAMHA Reorganization Act, Title I Subtitle A, Section 108, Special Terms and Conditions of Award:  Block Grant 1993

The Office of Addictive Disorders provides priority admission to IV drug users, addicted pregnant women and addicted women with dependent children.  The goal of OAD is no, or minimal, waiting period for comprehensive services.  Whenever comprehensive care is not available within 48 hours OAD provides interim services to IV drug users, pregnant women and women with dependent children.
