I am pleased to welcome you to the Office for Addictive Disorders (OAD) Website. I hope the information provided in these pages will increase public awareness of the services and activities of this office. It is the philosophy of this agency that treatment and prevention services should be of high quality and easily accessible to all citizens of the state.

Alcohol and drug abuse continues to be a major health problem in our state. The resources available are not sufficient to meet the growing need for treatment and prevention services. We will continually strive to prioritize services to meet these crucial needs. The Office for Addictive Disorders offers comprehensive treatment and prevention services through ten Regional/District Offices throughout the state. If you are unable to locate services that you need, please call one of our Regional/District Offices. If further assistance is needed, you may call the OAD Central Office at 225-342-6717. Your alcohol and drug abuse treatment and prevention needs are important to us and it is our mission to provide the services required to meet those needs.

Sincerely,

Michael Duffy
Assistant Secretary for the Office for Addictive Disorders
