Louisiana Health First is Louisiana’s new initiative to improve health outcomes for our citizens and create a sustainable system of quality health care by focusing on:

• expanding access to affordable health insurance coverage statewide;
• providing “medical homes” for Medicaid recipients through coordinated care networks (CCNs), which will
• offer consumers more choices on coverage and benefits;
• increase provider participation in CCN management and reward healthy outcomes for patients; and
• increase system transparency by making provider quality, satisfaction and efficiency performance measures more accessible to all;
• creating an Academic Medical Center to compete with America’s best  teaching and research institutions.
