The Deputy Undersecretary reports to the Undersecretary and directly supervises the following operations:

• Division of Engineering and Architectural Services reviews construction plans for conformance with state licensing laws and the State Sanitary Code for Departmental facilities and develops the Department’s construction requests for funding each year.
• Division of Contracts and Procurement Supports procures goods and services for DHH offices, and provides property control, telecommunications, mail room, copier management and vehicle management functions for the office.
• Health Education Authority of Louisiana plans, acquires and/or constructs facilities within a ten-mile radius of the Medical Center of Louisiana -- New Orleans (formerly Charity Hospital) and provides for the financing, usually through revenue bonds, of such projects. The Authority is also responsible for the operations of a parking garage and day care center in the New Orleans medical complex.
