Center for Studying Health System Change - The Center for Studying Health System Change (HSC) is a
nonpartisan policy research organization located in
Washington, D.C. HSC designs and conducts studies focused
on the U.S. health care system to inform the thinking and
decisions of policy makers in government and private
industry. In addition to this applied use, HSC studies
contribute more broadly to the body of health care policy
research that enables decision makers to understand change
and the national and local market forces driving that
change. |

Kaiser Family Foundation’s State Health Facts - Statehealthfacts.org is a project of the Henry J. Kaiser
Family Foundation and is designed to provide free, up-to-
date, and easy-to-use health data on all 50 states.
Statehealthfacts.org provides data on more than 450 health
topics and is linked to both the Kaiser Family Foundation
website (www.kff.org) and KaiserNetwork.org
(www.kaisernetwork.org).
The Henry J. Kaiser Family Foundation is a non-profit,
private operating foundation focusing on the major health
care issues facing the nation. The Foundation is an
independent voice and source of facts and analysis for
policymakers, the media, the health care community, and
the general public. The Foundation is not associated with
Kaiser Permanente or Kaiser Industries.

LSU Public Policy Research Lab - Contracted under the State Planning Grant for the
Uninsured, the LSU Public Policy Research Lab is the
result of a partnership between the Manship School of Mass
Communications Reilly Center for Media & Public Affairs
and the E.J. Ourso College of Business Administration. The
lab is designed to work with other units and faculty at
LSU, as well as non-profit organizations, government
agencies, and business and industry to measure the
public's opinion about issues in our state.

National Academy for State Health Policy - The National Academy for State Health Policy is a non-
profit, non-partisan organization dedicated to helping
states achieve excellence in health policy and practice.
The organization has offices in Portland, Maine, and
Washington, DC. |

National Conference on State Legislatures - The National Conference of State Legislatures was founded
in 1975 with the conviction that legislative service is
one of democracy's worthiest pursuits. NCSL is a
bipartisan organization that serves the legislators and
staffs of the nation's 50 states, its commonwealths and
territories. NCSL provides research, technical assistance
and opportunities for policymakers to exchange ideas on
the most pressing state issues. NCSL is an effective and
respected advocate for the interests of state governments
before Congress and federal agencies. |

National Governors Association - The National Governors Association (NGA) is the collective
voice of the nation's governors and one of Washington,
D.C.'s, most respected public policy organizations. NGA
provides governors and their senior staff members with
services that range from representing states on Capitol
Hill and before the Administration on key federal issues
to developing policy reports on innovative state programs
and hosting networking seminars for state government
executive branch officials. The NGA Center for Best
Practices focuses on state innovations and best practices
on issues that range from education and health to
technology, welfare reform, and the environment. NGA also
provides management and technical assistance to both new
and incumbent governors |

State Coverage Initiatives - The State Coverage Initiatives (SCI) program is a national
initiative of The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation that
works with states to plan, execute, and maintain health
insurance expansions, as well as to improve the
availability and affordability of health care coverage.
The program was launched in 1999 and re-authorized in 2002
for two years. AcademyHealth serves as the national
program office for SCI. |

State Health Access Data Assistance Center - Contracted under the State Planning Grant for the
Uninsured is the University of Minnesota's State Health
Access Data Assistance Center(SHADAC). SHADAC is funded by
The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation to help states monitor
rates of health insurance coverage and to understand
factors associated with uninsurance. SHADAC provides
targeted policy analysis and technical assistance to
states that are conducting their own health insurance
surveys and/or using data from national surveys.
