• Geographical Information System (GIS) Support Service
As part of SEET's emergency preparedness and response procedure, the GIS Support Service generates maps used by emergency responders when dealing with accidental chemical releases and/or terrorism. It is very important for these maps to have accurate information on sensitive populations as well as hospital information. In order to make these maps as accurate as possible, SEET has a very stringent geocoding procedure. The results of this procedure can be downloaded in the zipped files below.
SEET GIS Support Service has adopted the Geospatial File Naming Standard that was recomended by the Louisiana Geographic Information Systems Council Digital Data Subcommittee. The document can be downloaded here; however, the general information is summerazied in the picture below.
In addition, SEET has added a security level to the databases. Files that end with SEC0 have no restrictions. Files that end with SEC0a also have no restrictions; however, there is an internal, more complete version that you can request.
Please note that this is the ONLY location that the SEET GIS Support Service can guarantee that the version of the database that you download is the most current (as geocoded by SEET). If you would like to be notified as to when this page is updated, please email William "Clay" Trachtman to be included on the update list.
