Collection Instructions |
Collect food sample associated with food borne outbreak. If food specimen has a lot number, collect 2 to 3 unopened food items with the same lot number. |

Storage and Transport Instructions |
Food sample must be stored and shipped in same condition received from submitter. If specimen is received frozen (0°C or below), the food must be stored frozen (0°C or below), and shipped with dry ice or enough ice packs to keep frozen (0°C or below), during transit. If specimen is received refrigerated (2-8°C), the food must be stored refrigerated (2-8°C), and enough ice packs to keep refrigerated (2-8°C), during transit. Do not ship in wet ice, use ice packs. Food sample must be shipped overnight to laboratory. |
