Louisiana Commission on Perinatal Care and Prevention of Infant Mortality
Created by R.S. 40:2018, the commission consists of 16 members. The following are appointed by Governor:
- 2 Neonatologist (1 active in medical education and 1 actively engaged in private practice);
- 1 Obstetrician;
- 1 Family Practictioner;
- 1 Pediatrician;
- 1 Female Health Nurse Practitioner;
- 1 Neonatal Nurse;
- 1 rep from Family Planning;
- 2 Health Care Adminstrators representing the public and private sector;
- 1 Social Worker;
- 1 Nutritionist;
- 2 Perinatologists;
- 1 Member of the House appointed by the House Speaker,
- 1 member of the senate appointed by the Senate President.
Members appointed by the governor shall serve at his pleasure.
