Nursing Home Emergency PreparednessThe Louisiana Department of Health and Hospitals created EMSTAT- the Emergency Status Reporting website- to provide operational information about nursing homes in Louisiana emergency planning.

DO NOT USE EMSTAT TO REQUEST EMERGENCY SUPPORT OR ASSISTANCE! REQUEST FOR EMERGENCY RESOURCES SHOULD BE ROUTED THROUGH YOUR PLANNED CHANNELS STARTING WITH LOCAL EMERGENCY RESOURCES! EMSTAT IS NOT CONTINOUSLY MONITORED.

All Nursing Homes are to enter, maintain and update the following information as required or as requested:

Facility Status – To be updated as requested
Operating Status- Closed, Limited, Normal operations; Date, Notes
Evacuation Status- Fully evacuated, Normal Operations, Partially evacuated, Returned to Facility, Sheltering In Place (SIP)
Quick Update Box- for use only if all facility status information is unchanged from last update
Fuel Status- adequate, critically low, out, date

Facility Contacts – To be kept current, update as information changes
Emergency Contacts – Names, Types/Positions, Phone and Email information
Utility Providers- Name and account # for Electricity, Water, Natural Gas providers
Evacuation Host Sites and Emergency Transportation Providers- Name, Addresses, Contact info

Census Information – FACILITY CENSUS SHALL BE UPDATED MONTHLY; other census types- transportation, total staff, and willing to host- shall be updated as NEEDED and AS required
Transportation Census- persons (staff, family, residents) needing transportation triaged by type; red yellow, green
Census – total number of residents including those on leave or at hospital – shall be updated monthly
Total number of staff- this is the total number of all employed staff- full time and part time

Facility Generators – To be kept current, update as information changes
Generators- Make/Model, Output in Kilowatts, Phase (single or three), Voltage, Burn rate, Services supplied
Generator Services- what does each generator supply power to
Fuel Tanks- list of fuel tanks to be matched to the generators that they supply, location of tank for refueling

Facility Evacuations – To be kept current, update as information changes
Evacuations-incident and reason
Evacuation Site Destinations – list of all sites that you have evacuated to that are not licensed nursing homes
Nursing Home Destinations – list of all sites that you have evacuated to that are licensed nursing homes

Facility Power Outages – To be updated as requested
Incident- what event (storm, event) is the cause of the outage
Event- what resource, when did it go out, when was it restored
Generator- electrical outages only – generator being used, tank being used, fuel burn rate, gallons of fuel

Facility Status Report – Downloadable status report of the facility
