Non-Emergency, Non-Ambulance Medical Transportation Information
The Louisiana Department of Health and Hospitals (DHH), Health Standards Section inspects Non-Emergency Non-Ambulance Medical Transportation providers, and certifies them and their vehicles for Medicaid reimbursement. Once a provider is certified, the certification is valid unless otherwise revoked, suspended, or terminated.
DHH shall annually review vehicle inspection and insurance documents to ensure current compliance for all vehicles used by enrolled Medicaid transportation providers in providing nonemergency, non-ambulance transportation services to Medicaid recipients. The department may inspect such vehicles at any time the department deems appropriate.
