HIV Direct Services
Services is provided through the Ryan White HIV/AIDS Treatment Modernization Act, Part B, which provides formula-based grant awards to improve the quality, availability and organization of health care and supportive services for input from individuals and families affected by HIV disease.
The STD/HIV Program funds several Community Based Organizations (CBOs) through out the state to plan and prioritize the service needs of HIV-infected individuals, as well as to provide a forum for members of the infected and affected community.
Where are services provided?
The STD/HIV Program of the Louisiana Office of Public Health administers funds to provide supportive services to all regions outside of the New Orleans Part A catchment area and the Baton Rouge Part A Transitional Grant Area. The area within the Part A catchment area, which includes Jefferson, Orleans, Plaquemines and St. Bernard parishes, receives Ryan White HIV/AIDS Treatment Modernization Act, Part A funding from the City of New Orleans and the Part A Transitional Grant Area receives Ryan White HIV/AIDS Treatment Modernization Act, Part A funding from the City of Baton Rouge.
What services are provided?
The services provided in each region vary, depending on funding and the identified needs in each region. Ryan White Part B services are provided by a community based organization that is contracted by the STD/HIV Program for the provision of specific services.
Services that may be provided include:

· Dental Care
· Direct Emergency Financial Assistance
· Housing Assistance
· Medication Assistance
· Mental Health Therapy/Counseling
· Nutritional Services
· Outreach
· Substance Abuse Treatment/Counseling
· Transportation Assistance
